And the number one favorite junk food snack of mine is......................................................................
drum roll please........................................................................................................................................

1. Dark Chocolate Lindor--the ones in the black bag. Ohhhh they are perfect. I would eat them alot more if they weren't so high in calories!!!

I would like to give honourable mentions to some of my other faves that did not make it into the list.........
fuzzy peaches, ripple chips with onion dip, fererro rocher, gummy bears, rolled gold pretzels with yellow mustard for dipping, jelly belly jelly beans in strawberry daquiri, rocket pops, combos, cherry blasters, mike and ikes, and I am sure there are others!

So, what are your favorites? Do tell!

Top 10 Favorite things that come from Ireland!

Okay, so today is St. Patrick's day! Greg and I discussed what list we could do, and since we know neither 10 bands from Ireland or 10 movies from Ireland we are going broad on this one.

10. Circle of Friends--a movie from 1998 starring Minnie Driver and Chris O'Donnell (both of Irish descent). I liked it! And, I liked the book it was based on by Maeve Binchy (also Irish)!

9. The Corrs--I like The Corrs--they harmonize beautifully, and I can't help but be in awe of the fact that they are all stunning...what is in that Irish water?

8. The Cranberries--very popular in the 90's!

7. Colin Farrell--actor-he did a guest spot on Scrubs-so he is a-okay in my books! (though he does come off a little greasy...)

6. Lucky Charms--okay, so maybe not really! But they are based on something Irish! mmmm....

5. The nifty accent--everything sounds happy when said with an Irish accent!

4. St. Patrick's day--it is a fun day to dress in green and be a little nutty!

3. U2--except for a few songs, these guys have consistently rocked for over 20 years!

2. Kerry--my name is Irish! Yay me! Kiss me I'm Irish!

And, at number 1...................................Irish jig please..............................................................

1. Bono--yes his band is mentioned above-but he has become a real humanitarian who uses his wealth and fame to better the world around him. Kudos to Bono!

Top 10 Television shows that were cancelled.

I have bad luck with television shows. I fall in love and it seems that means an immediate death sentence for the show..... Really, sometimes I wonder if the TV execs have it out for me! So, here they are, my favorite shows that were cancelled....I wish you could check them out, but alas.....

10. Four Kings-this was a very short lived comedy starring Seth Green that lasted a whopping 7 episodes about four guys who have been best friends for most of their lives and now live together in an apartment one of them inherited from their grandmother....I liked it-but I am pretty sure I was the only one watching.

9. Boston Common- a fun college comedy from the 90's starring Anthony Clark and Traylor Howard. A guy named Boyd moves to Boston to spy on his sister while she is attending college--it made me laugh!

8. Freaks and Geeks-a great show that was on for less than a season in 1999. It stars James Franco, Linda Cardellini and Busy Phillips (among others) and is about life in high school in the '80's. Really well written and fun to watch, it was given a bad time slot so it never had a chance.

7. The Class-this show is about a guy named Ethan who is living with his childhood sweetheart and as a surprise throws her a party and invites all of the people from their 3rd grade class for a little reunion. The ones that do show up start hanging out together and we get to watch what happens! This show starred Jason Ritter (son of the late John Ritter) and was a great comedy. It won an Emmy and was nominated for another, but it just didn't have enough viewers.

6. That was Then- Okay, I love the premise of this show. Everyone has moments from their school years that they wish they could go back and do over. This show was about that exact thing. A guy travels back in time and does over the things that he wishes he could change and then experiences the way it changes his life in the present. This show was in a bad time slot and got cancelled after 3 episodes! But Greg and I really did enjoy those episodes....

5. Titus--a comedy written loosely about the life of comedian Christopher Titus. This was such a funny show and had so many laugh out loud moments!!! But, not enough viewers = buhbye Titus.

4. My So Called Life--alright, as you can see from the last 5 shows, I like to laugh. But, there are times in life when you want to think, feel, and brood a little. That was what My So Called Life was there for. Claire Danes starred as Angela--a 15 year old high school student. The show just followed her life and experiences as a teenager. It was realistic and dealt with things that actual high school students dealt with in the 90's. It was extremely well written and acted, so of course that means that it was cancelled after a year.

3. Veronica Mars--I loved this show....a teenage girl solving real mysteries (not like Nancy Drew figuring out who at the last cookie) and still trying to have a normal life. Starring Kristen Bell, this show had it all; mystery, romance, and comedy. But, the CW decided to make room for such gems as The Game.

2. Gilmore Girls--Mothers and daughters-the relationship has been made into television programming for many years-but none quite as well as with the lovely, witty, Gilmore girls.
The banter between Lorelei and Rory alone was reason enough to tune in week after week, but throw in the wonderful story lines and you have a hit!

And my pick for number one TV show that has been cancelled is.........................................theme song please...............................................................................................................................................

1. Arrested Development--"...the story of a wealthy family who lost everything and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together.". Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Michael Cera, Portia De Rossi, Will Arnett and a tonne of others came together in a brilliantly cast, brilliantly written and brilliantly acted comedy. Without a doubt this was the best comedy in recent history. I have no clue why more people didn't watch it. You must go out right now and rent all three seasons of this program!!

Top Ten Oscar Films from the last 30 years

Greg's Note: These aren't necessarily Best Picture nominees but films nominated from one of many categories (from Best Actor to Adapted Screenplay etc.). Opinions are Greg's and so if you don't agree, cool. Greg don't care 'cause it's only opinion. !Spoiler Alert!

10. Road to Perdition: Perhaps Paul Newman's last great role as a mobster protecting his good-for-nothing son (Daniel Craig) from the rightfully vengeful Tom Hanks. He gets what's coming to him from Hanks but he knows the damage done. Ending is bittersweet as Tom Hanks dies from two or three shots to the back but he saves his son from having to become like him by killing Jude Law before he can. Really great film from the director of "American Beauty".

9. The Deer Hunter: I'd love to include a happy picture on this list but alas this isn't one of them. Stellar cast: DeNiro, Streep, Walken (who won Best Supporting) and one other actor (name escapes me) who starred in The Godfather. Walken and DeNiro who shared a nightmare together are walking wounded, both choosing to stifle the pain in two very different ways.

8. Forrest Gump: It spawned a whole slew of pop culture catchphrases but what a great story of tragedy, history, comedy and sweet love that prevails horrible choices and circumstance. Tom Hanks was good (I'm not sure if he deserved Best Actor but the picture overall deserves my praise).

7. The Departed: Gotta love the Boston accents. Nicholson, DiCaprio, Damon, Whalberg, Sheen, and Winstone do a great job. Surprises, betrayals, street justice and I believe DiCaprio should have been nominated for this role instead of "Blood Diamond".

6. Schindler's List: Not an easy film to watch but a must for everyone (after the age of 14 that is). It deserved the Oscar and was Speilberg's true labour of love. Not a fun film but one that captures the times and horrors of the Holocaust.

5. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: Jack Nicholson does a great job as a poop disturber in a mental ward as does Nurse Ratchet.

4. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: A fantastic journey through Middle Earth. Jackson captured Tolkien's vision and I didn't mind some important facts omitted from the film because the acting, CGI and emotion was captured well. Well worth buying the extended versions on DVD.

3. Gangs of New York: Daniel Day-Lewis was robbed for Best Actor by Adrien "Where is He Now?" Brody. Every scene, you think he's going to break down or slit someone's throat. Fine supporting cast and Scorsese's direction was awesome. The accents that Day-Lewis can do for roles are flawless. It's no wonder he won for "There Will Be Blood". He's one of the few actors who could say that he's an artist.

2. Platoon: Stone's only good film. Charlie Sheen does a great job. Great tension between Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger. Very surprising to see Sheen's reaction to Berenger at the film's end. Loss of innocence in a war that made little sense.

1. Master of Disguise: Haha, here's the real one: The Silence of the Lambs: Anthony Hopkins wins big. Jodie Foster wins big. Jonathan Demme has had a career since that's hardly worth mentioning but this is a classic and he deserves kudos. Finally a villain who could and would rip your throat out but somehow garners sympathy from the viewer.
