So, Summer is still going on-and though I am not a huge fan of the heat-I must admit, there are some things I like about this season. Summer blockbusters, summer foods, summer vacations, and the music---ah yes! The music! In honour of said season, I am going to present, for your consideration-my top ten Summer songs!!! A play list to take to the beach.
10. MmmBop-Hanson. I don't know why this song feels summery to me. Maybe I am crazy, but it just does.
9. Paradise City--Guns n Roses. I know-cheesy, but still, you rock out when you hear it don't you? (Don't worry, I won't tell anyone)
8. Surfin' USA--The Beach Boys. They have Beach in their name-therefore they have to be on the list-it's the law.
7. Song Number 2--Blur. Whoooo Hooo! (Since we are talking Blur-another great summer tune by them is Country House!)
6. Shake It--Metro Station. It truly does make me want to shake it....and isn't that what summer is about?
5. Where it's At--Beck. He's got two turn tables and a microphone....
4. Island in the Sun-Weezer. I feel like it is summer when I listen to this song-even if it is in December. (for an Extra Weezer kick add a little bit of Beverly Hills to the mix)
3. Summer of '69-Bryan Adams. Because I am Canadian.
2. Here Comes the Sun--The Beatles. I feel the sun on me when I hear it.
And the number one summer tune is..........................................bongo drum roll please...........................................................................................................................
1. One Love-Bob Marley--Every time I hear this song I think of the beach!!! Yay Bob!!
